The first antenatal appointment helps your maternity team understand your health and plan pregnancy care. Book early rather than waiting until you have collected every possible report.
Prepare your history
Note the first day of your last period, previous pregnancies and any fertility treatment. Bring prescriptions, supplements, allergies and नोंदी of ongoing conditions. Mention previous pregnancy complications and operations, even if they happened years ago.
Make your questions practical
Ask which investigations are planned, where they take place and how results are shared. Confirm which medicines should continue and ask before making changes. Tell the team if travel, work or language makes attending appointments difficult.
Know how to get help
Before leaving, write down whom to contact between visits and where urgent maternity assessment is available. A scheduled appointment should not delay urgent care if you develop severe pain, heavy bleeding, fainting or feel seriously unwell. Keep your pregnancy नोंदी together so they are available wherever you receive care.
